By using this service you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions: Genhound has made reasonable efforts to remove errors from the information provided. However they are not liable for any errors and omissions that remain, or any consequential losses from you relying upon the information. All indexes and transcriptions of entries, no matter how carefully they are compiled, can contain inadvertent errors. All records are solely “finding aids”, regardless of how reputable their sources and origins may be. Whilst they may be invaluable as a means of locating information, you should check the original source of that information, or a reliable facsimile of it, wherever possible. Individual Use

You may not resell the whole or any portion of a record or database except as specific results relevant to specific research for an individual.

You may not make any data downloaded or copied from the Genhound site accessible via any web site without our written permission, except as items incorporated into your personal family tree or similar personal information.

You may not distribute to or share with others your login and/or password details for access to the sites.

Limitation of Liability

We accept no liability for any loss you may suffer as a consequence of your use of the service or for any loss arising from your failure to comply with your obligations under the terms.

We accept no responsibility for any loss you may suffer as a consequence of your being unable to access the site or use the services for any reason not under our control.

Privacy Policy

Information we may hold about you (“account details”) may be viewed by you at any time on the site and may include: Your name Email address Records purchased Genhound transaction details (no. of payments/payment times) Your security clues for use when you change or have forgotten your password.

We hold the information about you for administrative and legal reasons, we will only use it lawfully (in accordance with the United Kingdom Data Protection Act 1998), and we will not disclose any of it to any third parties except as required by law (eg for audit purposes).

Personal information is held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and UK law. We do not hold any of your credit card information on our sites; credit card and debit card information is transmitted directly from your PC to, and is held separately by Paypal, on their secure servers.

The information we hold should be accurate and up to date. If you find we are holding any inaccurate data we will delete or correct it promptly on receipt of advice from you or you may delete or correct the personal information in your account details via the Genhound website.

Unless necessary to resolve some problem you may have, we will not email or contact you unless you have given us your consent.

You may choose to join a mailing list to be kept informed of updates to the website and services, genealogy articles and other news of interest to genealogy researchers. This mailing list not used for any other purpose.

Registrations/Email

You do not have to register with us in order to access some of the services (eg the free search, information in the geneapedia section etc). However, to access and use other services such as viewing records you will need to register and pay. For example, to use our pay per view services you must provide your full name, email address, credit card number, and credit card expiration date. All submissions of such information are governed by our Privacy Policy (above).

You must select your own password when you register, which you will use along with your email address to log into the Genhound site. You must keep your password confidential, and not share your login details with anyone else.

You must not use an email address that is invalid; that belongs to or is already being used by someone else unless you have their prior consent; or that violates the intellectual property or other rights of any person.

You will, where information is requested, provide true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself, and maintain and update it promptly.

You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password and user name.

You will notify us as soon as possible if you know of or suspect any unauthorised use of your account or your login details.

Your Conduct

You will not:

Impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, any Genhound representative or another user of the site; falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity; or express or imply that we endorse any statement you make without our prior written consent.

Post, transmit, or otherwise make available any virus, worm, Trojan Horse, Easter egg, time bomb, spyware, or any other computer code, file, or program that may or is intended to damage or hijack the operation of any hardware, software, or telecommunications equipment.

Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the site or service, or the servers or networks that provide the site and service; or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies, or regulations of such networks.

Restrict or inhibit any other user from using the site, including by means of hacking or defacing any portion of the site.

Post, transmit, or otherwise make available any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, “junk mail,” “spam,” “chain letters,” “pyramid schemes,” investment opportunity, or any other form of solicitation.

Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit for any commercial purposes, any portion of the site and service, use of the service, or access to the site or service.

Modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the site.

Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights notice contained on the site.

Frame or mirror any part of the sites without prior written authorization from Genhound.

Create a database by systematically downloading and storing all or any of the content on the site.
